Self-determination for a struggling Nation

Concept for the Student Hostel Project

Architects Jess Lumley and Alex Koller – winners of sustainable housing competition in Cambodia with Building Trust International, compile draft drawings for the hostel. A plot of land has been found very near to Puok High School. 100 metre X 25 metre. This is a good size for a 2 storey building to house 40 students. With a garden area providing food the students will learn about new methods of propagation , cultivation and irrigation. A nearby tourist attraction could give the opportunity for a café / gift shop where crafts from the students’ villages can be sold. This will further improve the sustainability of the project.
